This week is just a quick update on our small group writing session that happened the night before Thanksgiving. As a whole our group is up to almost 170,000 words. We are within striking distance of 200,000, which would be very impressive for a group of seven of us.

This was our first word sprint, and the writers seemed to appreciate the release that comes with the pressure of time constraints. We ran two heats of twenty minutes each. Each heat was split into two ten minute sessions. The first ten minutes was prompted with a story complication (like those from Deb Lund’s Fiction Magic deck), and the second with a concrete word (like those from a personal universe deck).
